#Rose buys an old fashioned camera on one of their trips back in time #a bulky thing that’s heavy on the leather strap around her neck #it uses film and has none of the convenience that she’s used to #but it’s still fascinating #and she makes him stay still as she takes shot after shot #the shutter clicking #capturing his face as he makes exaggerated expressions #and Rose rolls her eyes #asking him why he can’t just smile normally #and he scratches the back of his head #and shrugs #and raises his eyebrows again to make her laugh #(not wanting to put into words how worried he is #that there would be photographic evidence #of the soft looks he knows he gives her #which would be difficult to dismiss when filtered through the objective lens of the camera) #and it’s masochistic #the way he develops the photos later #in an empty TARDIS #a punishment for losing her #for all the things he did wrong #or didn’t do #a way to remember her #and he chokes on his laughter when he sees exactly how much of the roll she devoted to pictures of his bum ( via
